Festival of Trees

We went to the Festival of Trees two weeks ago. Clay's family (especially his Mom) are really involved in this and volunteer so much of their time to make it the success that it is each year. Millie loved all the trees, snowmen, and Santa's all around. She kept doing the actions to the song "Once there was a snowman- tall tall tall" every time she saw a Snowman and "Ho Ho'ing" for the Santas. We had a great time!

Such a sucker for stuffed animals! She was in heaven with this big one!

"Vroom Vrooming" for the car. She loved it almost as much as her dad did!

Millie "hearts" Dax

So I know I have mentioned on the blog a million times how much Millie loves kids, especially her cousins. We had Clay's family over last week to celebrate Leann's birthday. Millie had so much fun playing with her cousins, and as always, she was fascinated with cute little Dax. Here is a fun video I caught of her trying to play with him. I didn't let Millie get too close to Dax all night because I didn't want her to tackle him with hugs and pats- or squeal his ear off. This was taken towards the end of the night where I had told her over and over to be soft and talk soft, so believe it or not, Millie is holding back A LOT- however, poor Dax still looks terrified. Clay and I got a good laugh at the video- hopefully you will too- Love you Dax!

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving! The day started with a long walk with my sisters- a new tradition! Then it was back home to get Thanksgiving dinner ready. It was Clay and my first time making a turkey- well we just made a breast- but still we were proud of ourselves. We watched Elf and looked at Black Friday ads to make our plan of attack for our very early morning. (We are big fans of Black Friday shopping at our house!) Then, Grandma, Lacey and Emily slept over so we could get up early together. Mills was so excited to wake up and have all her friends there in the morning. It was a great Thanksgiving spent with people I love more than anything in the world! I have so much to be thankful for. My heart just feels like it is going to explode when I think how lucky I am to have such a sweet and healthy little family.

Millie just getting ideas for her Christmas list...

Lacey was nice enough to share some of her pie with Millie-
One of the many reasons Millie just adores Lacey.
You can hear Mills making her "mmm" sound that she makes
when she is really loving what she is eating.
We made sure Millie gave daddy a big messy kiss after!

10 Months!

Wow, 10 months sounds so old- where has time gone!?! 9 Months was a big month for Millie- she has been learning so many things so fast I have been kicking myself that I haven't gotten more pictures and video of just how darn cute and crazy brilliant she is. I don't want to forget one little thing, which is why these month entries are always so long. Here are a few of the things she has loved doing this past month.
Mills with Aunt Lacey

What's That? -

Millie points to things and asks "what's that?"- but really she just says "that?"

Asking what the door stopper is

She also says "there." Whenever you ask where something is that Millie knows- she will point and say "there". We play this game a lot, some of my other favorite reactions are-

*When you ask her where Mama is she will pat me on the chest and say "mama" in her nicest little voice. She will point to Dada, Aunt Lacey, Aunt Emily, and Grandma when asked as well.

*When you ask her where Millie is she pats herself on the chest- Or, when she is feeling playful she will cover her eyes and play peekaboo.

*When you ask her where a Nose is she will grab your nose and wiggle it.

*When she doesn't know where it is she puts her hands in the air like "I don't know" She started doing this one day when I was looking for my keys and saying where are mamma's keys? She put her hands up looking for them. I realized we must look for my keys a lot for her to pick up on this up on her own like this.

Finger Plays/Action Songs-

Millie has always loved finger plays and has always tried to do parts of them here or there. She does all the actions to 5 Little Monkeys Swinging in a Tree (our favorite is when she does the "Along comes Mr. Alligator part). She also loves Little Bunny Foo and does her little bunny with one finger in the air bouncing up and down and claps to bop the mice on the head or will bop our hand.

"Along Comes Mr. Alligator"

Sound Effects-

Millie makes sound effects for Cars- "vroom vroom." I love watching her push her car around saying "vroom vroom"- she will also point to all the cars in a parking lot or in her books and say "vroom vroom"

Animals- Millie says "quack" for a duck (not many people understand her, but she does it consistently for a duck). Millie blows through her lips for a horsy- and she makes a fishy face for a fish.

Fishy Lips

Millie was hilarious at the toy store the other day... we were playing with a dolly that was saying mamma- and she kept saying it back to the baby- then every toy we touched she started to try to mimic it as well- my favorite was the toy blow dryer she tried to copy.

On the Go-

Millie crawls up stairs- not my favorite trick of hers, and also loves to walk along furniture.

Favorites

Her favorite things these days are Christmas Trees, microwaves, anything soft to snuggle with, opening and closing things, dancing, kids, and noodles. Oh how we love that little girl!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
Here is a little video of a few clips of some of the stuff I talked about. She was more into her toys than into playing with mom or dad, but you get the point.

Family Pictures

We finally got our family pictures taken. Clay has been so busy with other people's family pictures and his real job, that it took a while to get around to ours. It was a little tricky with him being in charge of taking the pictures and being in them at the same time, but I think we got some good ones. It is hard to post such little pictures on here, so if you want to see bigger ones, visit Clay's photography blog at claytonhansenphotography.blogspot.com

Happy Halloween!

We Hope you had a Happy Halloween! We sure did!

The Costume

At the Mall with her Cousins Olivia (Pippi Longstocking) and Kendyl (Jessie)-My Mom made their costumes and they were DARLING!

We went to my Mom's to pass out candy because we never get any trick or treaters at our house. Millie loved it and got so excited to see the kids each time the doorbell rang.

Pumpkin Carving

We carved pumpkins this week for Family night and put Millie in her pumpkin pajamas for the occasion. Clay made Millie the cutest Winnie the Pooh jack-o-lantern, which she is crazy for. Lacey made this darling Mickey Mouse to keep with the Disney theme. Millie is totally in love with her glowing pumpkins and I think she is already loving her first Halloween!

The Great Pumpkin Patch

We went on a little adventure to the Pumpkin Patch last weekend. Right now Millie is crazy for pumpkins and she was so excited to be there! Hooray for Halloween!

Let it Snow!

I have never really liked the snow...
until I spent most of my day sitting by the window seeing it for the first time with this little cutie!

9 Months

Happy 9 Months to my little Camille. I can't believe she is getting so old so fast. We are just loving her at this age... seriously SO MUCH FUN. It is so fun watching her take in everything around her and how excited she gets about the littlest things. It brings the magic back to life as we watch her experience everything for the first time.

Here are some things miss Millie has been doing these days!

Crawling- Yep, I tried to put it off as long as I could... but Millie is a crawler. She is all over the house and climbing up on everything. She is just loving all that independence!
I just love that little bum!

Being Friendly- Millie loves loves loves kids and babies. Everywhere we go she is just fascinated with them. She began by just waving to them, but apparently she wasn't getting their attention that way- So now she squeals (really really loud) at them. She squeals, waves, and reaches for them with all her energy. This makes church awesome by the way.

Peek A Boo- Millie loves playing peekaboo. She started doing it with blankets a while ago- and now does it with her hands which we think is just the cutest! Here is a little video of her playing with Clay. PS- I know her outfit is adorable, but she had pooped on three sets of pajamas that day, and eventually you just get tired of trying to find matching stuff.
video

Dance and Sing- Millie still loves to dance and sing to music. Whenever music is on she starts bouncing her little arms. She is completely captivated by this Disneyland Sing-a-long movie and dances and sings to the whole thing. The last song is all the kids singing a song as they say goodbye to Disneyland. Lately Millie has started getting the biggest sad face and wimpering when we wave goodbye and hug during this song. I guess she is like her Grandma Christensen- crying when we have to leave Disneyland.

Catch a Ball- Millie loves playing with balls and saying the word "ball". She loves to play ball with us and has a great little throw. When she picks up the ball we always clap for her and when we catch the ball she claps for us. She figured out how to use her little treehouse toy where you stick a ball in the top, push it, and watch it swirl down the tree. She does this over and over again- such a little smarty pants!

Words- Millie has added two words to her vocabulary this month. The first one is "Baby." She just loves her little baby doll and snuggles into it every time she gets a hold of it. (She snuggles into any soft toy and we think it is so cute). The next word is "Dog." She has a little fascination with animals right now, especially dogs. She started just calling dogs "dog", but then we took a little trip to Wheeler Farm and I think it overwhelmed her because now she calls most animals "dog". Two Top Teeth- Millie has her two top teeth now. They are oh so cute, but I don't know why she had to get them so early. This is a common theme in our relationship- her surprising me with how fast she wants to do big kid stuff, and me trying to keep her as little as possible for as long as I can.
